Asana: You will study each asana (pose) to get a deep understanding of how each posture works. Interactive teaching with your group will help you learn the basic of yoga such as standing poses, twists, forward bends, side and back bending poses. Energetics: You will get a sense of the internal aspects of yoga. Learn new ways to look, feel and understand the world around you. You will study meditative techniques, Chakras, and the concept of yin and yang and their applications in yoga. Anatomy and Physiology: You will learn the muscles, bones and organs of the body and how they affect your yoga practice and your students. Philosophy: You will acquire an understanding of the origins of yoga and study in depth the ancient yogic texts. Sequencing: Once the ABC's are covered, learn how to put together a great yoga routine that gets that *AHHH* feeling from your students. You will learn flow, sequencing of postures, sun salutations, and the five sacred rhythms. Therapeutic Yoga: In this section you will learn how to aid and heal certain health related conditions through yoga, such as carpal tunnel, sciatica, tight neck, shoulders and back, and more. Learn yoga for pain relief and stress reduction.
Yoga as a Career: An important aspect of being a successful teacher is marketing yourself and your personal style. During your teacher training program you will learn how to identify a target market and tailor your business to your needs and personality. Dates for the January 2009 Yoga Harmony 200 Hour Teacher Training Program with Phil DiLavore: One Weekend a Month: - Friday 6-9:30pm - Saturday 12pm-5:30pm - Sunday 12pm-5:30pm - January 30-February 1 - February 20-22 - April 3-5 - May 1-3 - June 26-28 - July 24-26 - August 7-9 In addition to the classroom hours listed, students are required to complete assignments outside of class, including required reading, quizzes and monthly reports. There will also be a monthly workshop and 3 additional Teacher Training Workshops, each 3 hours in length (dates to be given at start of training). In addtion students attend a weekly Yoga Harmony class with Phil DiLavore. (Price for classes and workshops are included in cost of teacher training.) Pre-requisite: Students must have been studying yoga for 6 months to a year (minimum). Suggested Pre-requisite: Participateion in the fall Yoga Progressive (fall dates to be announced soon). Tuition: $3000 $700 deposit is due by December 15th, 2008; Balance of $2300 to be paid at the start of the program. Pay in full by December 1st 2008 and receive a $300 discount.
500hr Advanced Teacher Training Program: Yoga Harmony also offers an Advanced Teacher Training program for teachers currently certifed at the 200hr level and registered with Yoga Alliance. After successful completion of this 300hr program you will be certified at the 500hr level. Yoga Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation: Now that you have studied asana, pranayama, and meditation in the 200 hour setting, learn to put them together to not only deepen your practice but enrich and enliven your life, and learn to do the same for your students.
This section is designed to make your present teaching easier, more succinct and more understandable. These tools will free you, allowing you to progress and develop your creativity in teaching.

Instructing private clients can be very rewarding. In this section learn how they are also great way to refine your skills as a teacher.

Promises of the Program: - You will improve your teaching ability exponentially - You will increase your power to obtain and retain classes and private clients - You will gain confidence in being a Yoga Instructor - You will create and maintain a personal practice that you love - You will be certified at the 500hr Level by Yoga Harmony - You will be registered at the 500 hr Level through Yoga Alliance - YOU WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!!! Dates and Times: This is a one year course, with classes held at Yoga Harmony Studio in Randolph, NJ. All weekends must be attended, and no more than two Fridays can be missed. If more than two Fridays or any weekend time is missed, it must be made up with private session time with Phil at the rate of $75 per hour. Weekends hours will be Friday from 6:00 - 9:30 pm, Saturday from 12:30-6:30 pm, and Sunday from Noon to 5:30 pm. Dates for our next session will be: - December 5 – 7, 2008 - January 9 – 11, 2009 - February 6 – 8, 2009 - March 20 – 22, 2009 - April 17 – 19, 2009 - May 15 – 17, 2009 or May 1 – 3, 2009 (tbd) - June 5 – 7, 2009 - July 10 – 12, 2009 - August 7 – 9, 2009 We will also meet the following Fridays from 6:30 to 9:30 pm: - December 12, 2008 - January 2, 2009 - January 16, 2009 - January 23, 2009 - February 27, 2009 - March 13, 2009 - March 27, 2009 - April 3, 2009 - April 24, 2009 - May 8, 2009 - May 22, 2009 - June 12, 2009 - July 17, 2009 - July 31, 2009 Additional Requirements: You must attend at least one of Phil’s weekly classes at the studio. In December and January, the class must be a Level 1 weekly class. In February, March and April, the class must be a Level 1 / 2 weekly class. In May, June, July and until the August weekend, the class must be a Level 2 class. An unlimited class pack to the studio is included in your fee for the teachers training. Pre-requisites: You must have completed a 200 hour Teacher Training program registered with Yoga Alliance. Additionally, you must teach at least 2 classes per week throughout the entire training. If you are not currently teaching 2 classes, you can register at this time, but you must be teaching two before instruction begins. Program Fees: The fee for the entire program and all related requirements is $3,500. This includes an unlimited class pack for the duration of the program and all required workshop attendance. It does not include books. Register at least one month prior to the beginning of the program to receive a $300 discount. Pay in full before the beginning of the program and receive $200 off the program fee. Your registration in the program also provides a 10% discount for attendance at any workshops given that are not a required part of your training.
