Re-Affirming Yoga
Last week I spent with John Friend creator of Anusara Yoga, the style of yoga that I have been practicing for the last couple of years. I don't think
you can study with a great yoga master like that and not get some great insights into your practice. One of the things we talked about was being
present to what we are doing at every moment and realizing why we are doing that thing. What ever it is. Whether it be a pose, an action, a gesture,
a breath, talking or making a comment.
I took on looking at why I teach yoga. I teach yoga because I get to make people feel happier and healthier. Looking at my teaching this way gave
me a remembrance and a re-inspiration of what I am doing.
Take some part of yourself, whether it is your yoga practice, your career, your family etc. And look at what a difference it makes in your life and
why that is. Then when you come to your yoga class remember why you come, the difference it makes in your life, and why it is important to you.
I find that this deepens my experience of my practice and of life. I hope you will find this as well.
